Indulgent brioche French toast casserole soaked in creamy custard and baked to golden perfection, perfect for gatherings or cozy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf brioche bread, cubed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Fresh berries or sliced bananas (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Slice the brioche into even cubes and let sit to stale slightly.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Pour the custard mixture over the brioche, pressing down gently.
  4. Allow the mixture to soak for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven until puffed and golden, checking to not overbake.
  6. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

Try using stale brioche for better absorption. You can also toast brioche cubes for 10 minutes to dry them out if needed.
