Caprese Salad with Fresh Basil

A refreshing and colorful Caprese salad combining juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into thick rounds.
  2. Layer them on a platter, alternating between the two.
  3. Tuck whole basil leaves between layers.
  4. Drizzle generously with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  5. Sprinkle with freshly cracked black pepper.
  6. Serve immediately to enjoy the freshness at its peak.

Notes

Best enjoyed immediately, but if preparing ahead, keep the dressing separate until right before serving.
