A classic and moist banana bread perfect for breakfast or a delightful snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth but slightly chunky.
  3. Whisk together the melted butter and sugar in another bowl.
  4. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients: baking soda, salt, and flour in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the banana mixture until just incorporated.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and add nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

For a moist banana bread, use very ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter.
