Delightful and colorful Springtime Crinkle Cookies that are soft, chewy, and dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Citrus zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Combine butter and granulated sugar in another bowl until creamy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a smooth dough forms.
  6. Scoop portions of dough and roll into balls.
  7. Coat each ball generously with powdered sugar.
  8. Place onto a baking sheet, allowing for spreading.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until puffed and cracked.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened but not melted. Chill the dough if too soft for better crinkles.
